We were recently engaged by a client to assist them in the urgent repair of their boat. They were only a few weeks away from their hoiday when they had unfortunately caught a mooring line around their propeller. The result of which was the P bracket and the prop shaft having been wound up into the hull and the engine mounts and shaft being damaged to boot.

Survey Questions!

This is a complex subject and certainly for higher value vessels a suitably experienced solicitor should be involved.  It must be understood that under maritime law a vessel takes its debts with it. If you buy the boat with an unsuitable Bill of Sale then you could find yourself liable for previous finance debts, mooring and repair bills and so on.
